Lots of fun!

Got the roof down to bare metal with a coat of etch primer. Although the car has never been repainted other than the R/R quarter, I'm taking it right down to bare metal.

The rocker was really bashed in, a slide hammer wasn't even touching it.

The easiest way for me to cut it open, hammer it back to shape, and re-weld it back together.

Got the body lifted from the frame, just have to figure out how to support it and roll the frame out from underneath.

Got some work done to this beatsthis summer.

Accomplished to lift the body from the frame, had the frame sandblasted and I painted it with 2k epoxy and temclade rust paint. Most of the suspension is back in with all new bushings and wearing parts.

The engine is almost all back together, and once the transmission crossmember gets painted the drivetrain will go back in.

Once the frame gets reunited with the body I will start on the suicide rear door hinges :)

Is that a 460 motor? I see the roller rockers added, what other goodies you got in there?

It's .030 over with hyper flat tops, ProComp aluminium heads, mild cam (.516 lift) roller rockers and Edelbrock intake. Haven't decided on a carb yet.

Got more down to the Lincoln!

Engine and tranny bolted back together.

And back in the frame.

All the fuel lines, brake and vent lines replaced.

Going back down, stage one. I used ratchet straps and the chains from my engine lift bolted to the seatbelt mounts to hang the body from the cherry picker.

For stage three I moved the crane to the trunk latch.

And we have assimilation!

Starting to look like a car again.

Next is to finish the metal work behind the tail lights and paint the trunk.

Got my hinges in the mail yesterday to make the rear doors 'suicide'.

Got the floors done and sealed.

Modifications to the B pillar for the door striker,

Going to have to re-install the front door to check for alignment,

Now here's my question,

Should I paint the roof, 1/4s and jambs and everything else separately (doors, hood, trunk and fenders) or paint the jambs, underside of hood and trunk, and inside doors first then mount all the parts and paint the car assembled?

I'm doing all this at home and not in a shop.

How would you do it?

Just personal preference, but if you are doing a solid color paint it in pieces... metallics and pearls you need to do it all at once or "jamb" everything and then do the outside of the car (assembled) for the best quality job and everything matching.
