Now to decide if I can rescue those old sill plates and use them for a while.

By the way, I do know that the woodgrain console top is a 69 model year thing but I like the look and it will have to do for now.

Okay, its time to get back on this project for a bit.
Today I will begin restoring the bucket seats.

I like to take pictures prior to beginning any project so here are a few of the seats, the condition, cover attachments and hog ring placement.

The headrest hardware has small groove that goes toward the front of the seat. I made a note of this and put it in the ziplock bag with the hardware and screws.

The seat release wire routing:

Hog Ring placement and overlapping corners:

I will take more pictures during the removal of the old covers and deteriorated foam.

Starting here I began removing the hog rings from the Seat Back cover:

I find these fence pliers very helpful in removing hog rings:

After removing the visible hog rings I folded the cover back and found two that were hidden:

The seat cover was easily removed leaving the old foam. It is a good idea to hold on to the original foam so as to compare with the new foam which often isn't an exact replacement.
I took pictures again showing the muslin and hog ring placement. The new seat foam comes with muslin that needs to be glued into place.

After removing the foam you can see the burlap and listing wires that cover the springs. This piece was just laying there and easily lifted off:

I purchased the new foam and covers from Legendary and you can see the foam is not an exact match. The back is completely open all the way to the top. They provide a piece to be glued on as seen in the second picture. The kit does come with instructions and a recommendation you pay someone to do the installation.

To be honest I wouldn't recommend it. Stuck really good at first and seemed to be a cheap alternative but started to release after a while. Didn't matter on the floor so much but couldn't use it for inside the doors, etc.
