A 512 stroker kit, close to 600 hp is the game plan so it should be even more fun to drive.

That's the way to go! Whenever I get my '68 Chevelle, '65 Mustang, '68 El Camino or '63 Vette, I'd like to do the same.

Car looks great, I'm restoring my 1969 super bee and was wondering what kind of process/paint you used on ur dash bezel and trim? I also don't feel like paying to get mine restored. Thanks!

Thanks.
The process on the bezel:
Stripped with Garnet media and very low pressure in blast cabinet.
Painted Chrome areas with Krylon Metallic and let dry.
Masked off all the chrome areas ( very tedious work)
Sprayed the Black portion with Krylon Fusion for Plastic in Satin (very good product requires no primer) Sprayed very light coats to cover so as not to fill in the channels on the bezel.
White Lettering was done with Model paint and a very small brush. I tried the rubber eraser trick but it didn't work well for me so I just did it with a brush.

Gauges:
Dismantled everything I could and then protected the indicator needles with masking tape. (note: use tape that will not stick forever)
Blasted the rusted surfaces and painted with Krylon Fusion black satin and let dry.
Used decals for the gauge faces and Model Paint for the indicator needles.
Polished the plastic with Meguiar's Plastix on a buffing wheel.

Installed Quartz unit in the clock and new board in the tachometer.

Thanks 58.

Today I began by making new sail panel boards from some material I bought locally for $3.00. The repops were over $20 plus shipping.

Headliner is in.
Still not happy with wrinkles in sail panel area so if you have any suggestions lets hear them. I have not applied any heat to it yet so that may help some.

Looking great! Try warming the headliner with a hair dryer, then pulling the wrinkles out. Clamp it in place and as it cools it should hold the shape.
