Well....I’m back! It’s only been forever since I last posted. I went back and read all the comments. Such kindness and positivity from you guys and it’s much appreciated.
I completely lost motivation with this build because I was working on too many projects for others at the same time. Life led me to other things, one of which was airbrushing. I really took to it and started doing a lot of portrait work. Here are a few of my paintings. I honestly wouldn’t have gotten started back on the truck but my father-in-law passed away in March 2018 from cancer. He was such an awesome man who restored many, many cars after coming home from Vietnam. He was such an encouragement to me and always wanted me to get this truck on the road. Shortly after his passing I started back. I’m now continuing on this truck in his memory. It probably doesn’t look much different but major hurdles have been overcome. I finished notching the rear frame, completed the brake system, finished all of the repinning work, installed a chrome steering column and oh yeah, drove it out of the garage for the first time. I eliminated the battery junction box and fuse box from the donor Mark VIII to streamline things. I bought a 22 circuit Speedway wiring kit and integrated it into the factory harness. I now have every wire from both harnesses that enters the engine bay going through one bulkhead. Maiden voyage under its own power https://youtu.be/Y5246DbioLY |

The YouTube video won’t imbed for some reason.

I removed the makeshift battery box that was up front and fabbed one for the back. It works great and the cables that were up front are now cleaned up and hidden.
Here it is finished. I used the the battery hold down from my wrecked Focus. |

I also finally got got my electric fan mounted. A very time consuming project but I’m very pleased. I’ll probably add a little bit of adhesive backed foam on the edges. The fan size was almost perfect. I just had to modify the corner.

Video worked just fine.
Truck sounds very good and I can see it terrified the passengers at first. Amazing artwork. I bought an Iwata airbrush a number of years ago and it's still brand new in the box. I have trouble drawing stick figures and when I see work like yours I remember why my airbrush is still brand new. LOL Glad to see you are back on the truck project. I understand how other people's stuff gets in the way. Took me a long time (close to 10 years) to finish my '68 Coronet R/T because I did two or three cars for other people while working on it. Right now my '68 Plymouth GTX is sitting while I work on other people's stuff. 1968 Coronet R/T

Wow you’re still going strong at it. That’s good to hear. Hopefully I’ll be able to post regularly on here until this truck is finished. I would like to get back to airbrushing again but my free time right now is being used on this truck. |

Here’s the fan/radiator installed.

Here’s the Speedway engine harness integrated with the 4.6 engine harness. Only one bulkhead on the firewall keeps it clean. Still need a bulkhead cover.

I was dreading this part of the build the most. I’ve put it off and put it off but I had to get it done now to continue with some of the rest. Since I cut the one piece front end apart the hood had no lip for any rubber bumpers and the inside edge of the fenders don’t extend far enough for the hood to rest on. I decided to try the hood first. I’m very happy with how it turned out. I’ll have to wait until the fenders are finished so I can set the hood on and do the finish shaping.
