That is body filler over the fiberglass repair i made. I felt it was pretty strong when i got done. Car has been primed again and wet sanded out at 400grit. Now after sanding its dirty and has a film on it. Can i was the car or is that a no no?

A little update. I went back and reprimered the whole car. Im happy with the results this time around seemed to lay down smoother. I am in the process of wet sanding for topcoat. Should see color in a week or so.

More photos also included is a steering column rebuild. This column started life as a column shift. But after shaving the shifter nub its looks like a floor shift.

I assume the fenders are loosely mounted for painting? I ask because the gaps are way off on the driver's side.
You are doing great work and a lot of it. This stuff takes so much time but when its finally done you'll be glad you went the extra distance. 1968 Coronet R/T

Yes the fenders are just sort of hanging. I still need to jamb it when im done so i I didnt set the gaps or anything yet so I can do the front part of the jambs. Yes lots of work. Ive been stuck on this stage for over a month. I only get a few hours here and there to work on it. But I got about 75% of the car wet sanded out at 600. Still need to do the truck lid, roof.

Paint day!!!! Im happy with the results. Its looking better the more it dries. So far no runs that I can see. Thanks for all the help. Especially you 68 Coronet. I got a fair amount of orange peel but all in all not bad.
