I got all mine for the Bird project from Classic industries you have to stay away from the lower priced panels and order there more expensive ones. quality is just night and day on the stamping s
example There full quarters are far superior to the Half's

The half's are great if you want to just cut a Piece from it no way I would use a whole skin from it though.
One of these days I will get back after my Firebird project

From what I'm learning is the higher prices panels are definetaly better. The trunk pan I wish I bought the better one. But I got it to work. So far the tail panel and inner panel seem good. I'm going to install the tail lights and bumper to make sure I have a good fit before welding. I'm going to need patch panels for the lower rear quarter. Won't need a while quarter tho, luckily.

Here is the frame rail I installed. I rebuilt the whole torque box as I showed previously. All rust and rot was cut out, I sanded and wire wheeled the whole piece. I overlapped the seams, Main in the wheel tub on the inside. I have it plug welded. I got the exposed body seamed lined up. All my measurements where dead on and straight. Cant mess something like this up. Didnt come out too bad if I say so myself, especially for my first go at MAJOR rust repair. 1979 Cutlass Hurst/Olds

I would have Bought the whole Trunk floor with the Frame rails for your car to repair it if it was mine. Just not sure I could keep every thing square when doing the Frame rail and the floor at the same time.
Mine is looking good Floor is welded in as is inner tail panel reinforcement panel, and Tail Panel itself has been trial fit a few Times now just waiting to do a few minor skin repairs on Tail panel skin itself before welding it in. Dennis B.

Ya I didn't find the trunk pan with the rails until I already had my pan and rail. I took a lot of measurements before I cut and I welded back in to those measurements. Took alot of finagling buyits to what I measured. So you have a build thread of your car?

The trunk pan and inner panel. Seat up against the tail panel. How many spot welds should I pick along that?

I drilled mine apart at every original spot weld and duplicated that on the new Pan.
Its all welded in now I did a Partial removal of the Back seat panel to get at all the Spot welds. I I wanted a Repair that would be completely undetectable when done. I should be getting back after it shortly. My build thread is in the Welding section of the forum for what ever reason photobucket renamed a bunch of the pictures on 1,2,3 pages and now there are duplicates have no idea why but job isnt finished yet got floor welded in and worked stopped. Life got in the way with Work and Needing extra money for supply's Then I started a Job for a customer to make some extra cash so My own projects sit. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21429 Dennis B.
