took on this job (one of my first paying) to restore a 10 year old F3 racecar.
all panels carbon fiber, all very badly damaged and loads of previous repairs. colors a custom black base with a fair bit of silver pearl, looks gunmetal under direct light. anyway i have about 40 hours logged in this easy, maybe more. the customer is a motorsport specialist and rebuilds old cars for customers, and i now get all his trackday car work so plenty of different things other than the run of hondas i restore to break it up nicely! .
having never worked with composites other than fiberglass i can just say that carbon is a complete and utter bastard to fix when the gelcoat hairline cracks, its broken in places and other bits fully snapped in half!. still i think it came out mostly ok seeming as most parts were buried in 4/5 layers of paint and had about 3 coats of bodyfiller in them from previous repairs! not finished wetsanding it down and polishing it but its getting there. will grab more pics with it outside in daylight with all the new wheels/tyres and race decals on
just finished. something different

That's so cool! I Just watched the movie Rush last night, which was about F3, then F1 racecars from the 1970's.
