This is the car I purchased in 2007 back in college. It will be powered by a BBC 496. I plan on using all products from **********. I want to paint it with BC/CC White from them. Stripping the paint has not been fun at all. Haha. The floor in the cab is very solid. Just a bit of surface rust.

I plan in shaving the drip rails and going with flush mount door handles. Is a Lincoln 140 a good choice for this project? I can get it for $450 used with cart, 125cf tank, and mask.

I have had my Lincoln Pro Mid 140 for about 5 years now. It works well. They have two carts, a small cheap one and a better cart. I have the cheap cart and the welder has to sit a little crooked on the cart for the gas line out the back of the welder to clear the gas bottle. Get the better cart if you can swing it.

Well I am finally back on the project. I am trying my best to have it done by the summer. It has been very hard trying to find a bodyman here in Fort Benning. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places. Might as well do it myself. I shall go fill the welding tank tomorrow.

Now I am new to this so please be patient with me. ... Can these parts be fixed with patch panels and a bit of hammer and dolly work? This will not be a restoration at all but a pro-touring/daily driving vehicle. Any and all suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am starting to think that throwing on some new doors might save me a bit of time and a huge headache.

I would say a LOT of time and a huge headache. Anytime you can get better original parts than you have you're further ahead, assuming you can get them for a reasonable cost. Most things can be fixed with patch panels but if they're too far gone replacing the entire panel would make more sense if you can get it. Rob
