Thanks for the add I'm currently on on a project and ran into some lifting of my bc. I ended up running out of paint part way through and had to go get more. unfortunately it was not the same brand but same code and matched fine. I don't know if this is the cause of the lifting I'm just trying to provide information that could be helpful. I also think it might be me not sanding certain spots well enough i also think the car was painted with acrylic enamal by the guy before me and I've heard of lifting when u go from that to a bc/cc any help would be great thanks again also have a hardtop we painted at the same time and it came out fine

So tell us a little more about the paint you bought to spray on there.
Right now we don't know enough to help you. Was it a rattle can paint job?
It looks to me like what you sprayed on that spot ate right into the what was underneath. Is the lifting only in the area you repaired?

whoa, looks nasty, you didn't leave a dirty rag there or lean on the car with oily/greasy clothes, looks like its been attacked with paint stripper or something!!
did you use stripper on the panel to strip old paint but left a bit of filler that was on the panel there?
I think its a strip back to metal again repair

Original poster hasn't been back????

Sad
A real problem experienced by so many new painters run into and he doesn't come back to explain what he did & what he used or how he used it, to have it analyzed by the Pro's hear to figure out what really is going on and what is causing it.

More than likely this problem has already been fixed by now by an experienced painter's advice locally, shame the owner doesn't share.

There are many hear who could benefit from sharing the experience
