Nice, that looks like it will be fun. I like the "this side up" sticker.
Well, there is no going back now...

Cool, love the old CJ's. I did a CJ7 many years ago, typically a ton of rot where the body armour has been added so you may be in for a bit of a surprise. On the other hand you're in the desert so maybe it is just added protection for offroading. One can only hope

Not trying to scare you but this was just the tip of the iceberg on mine

Started dismantling the Jeep:
First thing was the spare tire assembly.

May look good in the pictures but it was mounted poorly. The spare tire assembly wouldn't swing out of the way and made the tailgate useless and the rear of the jeep inaccessible.
Notice how it was bolted through the tailgate:

The tailgate will need welding:

The compartment under the passenger seat had a rubber mat but when I removed it:

Removed the side plates and the metal under looked pretty good:

Removed a wooden box enclosure that someone made:

Removed the roll bar:

The front and rear bumpers are also off but I didn't take pictures of that.

Still waiting for the owner to decide on the color.
The 67 Jeep color chips do not show anything in this shade. They have an empire blue but its a tad darker.

Owner decided on a color change. Wants President Red with gloss black bumpers and rollbar.

Started dismantling the engine compartment.
Had to diagram and label all the wiring since it has been worked on extensively:

Purple spliced to orange, light green to dark green, black to red, etc.
