Put some stripes on Nova #2 and detailed my brake drums this week. Stripes are "plasti-dip" and replicate the "Rally Nova" stripes that came on some Novas in 71-72... Used fine line tape. Turned out pretty great IMO, looks like a different car and if I decide I hate them later (don't think I will) I can peel them off with no damage. Drums are cast iron engine paint over rust converter.

A true gear head if I ever saw one. Turkey and brake drums all on the same table.

Did you have a template or lay those out by hand?
They do look great by the way. 1968 Coronet R/T

Thanks! All I used was online photos of actual "Rally Novas" , it was all eyeball, no measuring. That part is pretty easy for me because I'm a 25 year carpenter, I have a good eye for a straight line. Basically the back end is the width of the tail light housing and the front comes to a point where the eyebrow molding curves and an inch back from it. On actual Rally Novas there is one more 1/8" wide stripe around the outside, I figured that part might not work so well with plasti dip, so I could add it later with a vinyl pinstripe or not... artistic license. Here's the best example I could find, my stripes are a bit wider at the back end, might look too wide if I added the extra stripe... |

Yours look straighter than the factory Rally Nova stripes.

Hehe, probably are, most Novas came with pretty poor fit and finish back then
