This is my first restoration ive replaced roof both quarters and wheel wells just finished painting today put 4 coats clear. Im going to wait 2 days and block with 1500 and clear again 3 coats how much better will this make the finish

You got 4 coats on it now, just cut n buff... more coats won't make it deeper IMO. Maybe an expert will weigh in.

The only difference there would be is if you cleared it better the second time . And what I mean by that is peel, evenness , how wet etc.. As far as more shine if you cleared it equally good the first time as your did the second time there would be no difference.

If you do decide you need more coats, I wouldn't sand it with finer than 1000...

Thanks looking it over I got some light spots in the yellow can I blend those spots with color and reclear them and it look the same as rest of car or do I need to start over
|
Wish I could help with that, I've only done half a dozen cars myself and no blending. Light colors are tough because it's harder to see what you're doing when spraying the paint on IMO. I would have gone with 3 coats single stage yellow on that one. Single stage is more newbie friendly... again IMO
You'll get it, just keep plugging away at it, screw ups are the way we learn it |
