First post and would like to thank all for sharing their knowledge of autobody and paint as I have had to use the search button many times now since starting this project. I have had the car since 98'. She is a work in progress. Car was a basket case when I got it. Drove it home sitting on a bucket as it had no interior from the prior owner. Pieced together a black and gray interior and now I'm on the 3rd engine always got to go faster. Figured its about time to get the body looking right.
The first pic shows the car in original oxford white/Gray.

Okay so far what I have done is washed car with dawn, cleaned with water and solvent base W/G remover, stripped down to bare metal, W/G remover again, applied ********** epoxy 3 coats, body worked areas needed, sprayed epoxy on filler and any metal from sand through, jambed car doors, hatch and where glass was in SS, 3 coats 2k high build primer on body, then car sat for a few months, guide coated and blocked with 180, Had to shoot 2k primer again as there was a few eggs showing in areas let sit for 10 days, guide coated blocked in 220 starting to look pretty straight but still had a few areas that needed another coat or two of primer and that's where its at now waiting for the 320 block. In the end I will be spraying it in Ford Grabber Blue gonna use chromabase with ********** clear. here are some more pics.
Back half being stripped.

I'll post more pics just have to go through them and put them in some kind of order.
Thanks again for all the help from this forum.

Here are a few more pics.
Bodywork on the roof in different stages.

Picked up another passenger side fender as I wanted to try and weld up the antenna holes as it turned out under the 3 paint jobs on that fender there was some rust so had to weld a larger patch then I wanted. There was also some spot rust under all that paint on the top of the fender so I blasted it with aluminum oxide it was a little wavy to begin with but I probably made it worse so more body work.

I did get a little practice patch welding some rust spots prior on the bottom of the window pillars and under the driver side quarter window unfortunately did not take pics.
Don't know why the pics are loading sideways any way to fix that kinda hurts the neck.

nice project,
just a tip tho, when you have a few little repairs like on the top of the guard, ive found it easier to just put filler over the whole area, not just in a few spots real close together, then block the whole lot, it will be a lot quicker and easier for you!!
keep up the good work

Thanks for the tip krem I should have done it that way would have been faster in the end. The original fender and door on the passenger side had some bodywork done before and of course high on the body line like a pick up or something backed into it. wasn't anything major. Until I went to line up the new fender to the door and noticed the door was sticking out about a 1/4" further then the new fender. I always thought something looked off on that door. Well since there is no adjustment in or out on the door hinge its welded on. Off came the door cut the hinge off and weld it were it should be unfortunately I had already jambed the doors. All that because I wanted to try and weld up some antenna holes. :knockout:

Since I had the welder out again welded in a brace for the roof every time I take the sunroof out the roof oil cans.

Heres the fender that started it all in 2k primer waiting to go back on.

Starting the first guide and 180 block driver side not too bad.

Here's the passenger side. 180 block.
We got to rework some issues. :(
20150109_191419.jpg

Hood and roof not too bad.
20150112_181622.jpg

Primed again getting ready for 220.
20150115_155755.jpg

Took the front bumper cover off again too. there was a manufacturing line in it that I did not like. Aftermarket oem replacement. Sanded it as smooth as possible and body worked with evercoat poly flex.
20150119_160021.jpg

No more line.
20150123_155358.jpg

Figured out how to get the pics right side up.

Lookin good so far. I've always wanted one of those foxes with the factory forged 302. The wife won't let me buy one, too many other projects.

well just sprayed some epoxy on the rocker skirts, quarter skirts and rear bumper. Prep time was 10 hours to get them ready seemed like it took forever. Every piece on this car had 2-3 paint jobs and doing the plastics always seems like it takes me a long time to get them right.
20150306_131340.jpg

That's the last parts that still had old paint on them. Probably prime them tomorrow. Then one last blocking on the body. I hope to be in color by end of month. :D
