Pics tell the story, but basically I DA'ed the factory SS with 320, fixed some rust and dents (Duraglass and filler) I know, I know... , then 2 wet coats Eastwood Epoxy, blocked it out w/ 320, then two more wet coats. Looks 100% better! Took me 30 hours. Oh, did the wheels in duplicolor wheel silver spraybomb. The before pics are pretty old...it was looking sad after 2 years and no washing

The Grey looks a whole lot cleaner, But I liked the red and white scheme better.
Nice job tho Dennis B.

Thanks Chris, several people on the jobs have seen it an loved it. People go nuts over matte paint jobs these days!! LOL A co-worker saw it and wants me to do his in the next couple weeks... I steered him away from the primer only route as his truck is outdoors all the time and I didn't want him to hate me a year from now. We will be going with epoxy and then some single stage flat white urethane on that one... Reason I did this one this way is, if I see it starting to deteriorate, I can simply block it and shoot some SS on it in another weekend...easy peezy |

Thanks! I'm really liking the grey right now, it's a bit darker than shows in the pics. I might go with a darker grey (like cyber grey for instance) when I wind up throwing some SS on it in the future. It compliments the red guts and looks a bit more current IMO. Originally my plan was just to shoot the whole thing gloss red with the white or maybe matte black cap on the back |

OK, so I hated the silver wheels...looked cheap and tacky... threw some gloss black on 'em

You have too much time on your hands. LOL
I never get to work on my own vehicles anymore. If I do have the time I don't have the energy. Looks very nice! 1968 Coronet R/T

Thanks man It was just looking so shabby before, that I couldn't stand it anymore. Been waiting for "spring cleanup" for months now ... winter sucks for painting in a garage, so I don't even try... I have two projects to do for other people coming up (not primer "paintjobs"), one is very interesting, my brother in law wants me to do his original paint 81 Jeep Scrambler in bright orange...gonna be fun! |

all done for now... cap is matte black tractor enamel with hardener and it feels very durable...cheap fix for a cheap truck
