Clear coat is on.
These look lighter because of the camera flash:

Putting it back together.
Scrubbing the old wax off the light lenses takes a bit of time but helps them look new again. Buffed the tail light lenses to remove some very fine scratches. First pic is with no camera flash and represents the true color. Going to make some changes to the booth before my next paint job. Need a larger filter bank so I plan to increase the width by one more filter (20") and add a row on top and two on the bottom. I will more than double the CFM of air flow to get closer to 100' per minute. Also will add angled areas to the ceiling wall corners and at the exhaust end of the booth on the ceiling and walls to reduce turbulence. Need more lighting as well. 1968 Coronet R/T

I hope you update your booth thread when you make those changes, I'm curious to see how many filters in total and how many furnace fans you will be using. I'm going to be moving in the next year so a new shop with better booth is in the plans.

Rob,
I will update that thread once I get this done and see how it works. The old shifter seal: New one with a little painting and clean up on the shifter: Cleaned painted and install the fresh air vent cover, wiper linkage and cowl seal: New weatherstripping on doors: What they used to look like: 1968 Coronet R/T

New Windshield in:
New cowl grill installed, wiper arms painted and installed: Floor Carpet mostly installed and Dash assembly back in: Trim painted and waiting to be installed: Steering wheel somewhat refurbished: Owner decided he wants a style bar like this installed: Waiting for the headrest speakers to arrive so I can install the wiring under the carpet then move to get this thing wrapped up. 1968 Coronet R/T

Wow thats nice, this was a compete resto! Did you put the windshield in yourself?

Started out to be repaint with new convertible top but I tell people once you see the new paint you won't want all the old stuff going back in. I have a Auto Glass guy who did the windshield complete: remove wait until I call, then replace with new seal for $160. For that price I couldn't see doing it myself. 1968 Coronet R/T

I agree, that saves you some time and work for not much $. Looks great but I gotta say thats not my favorite color on that car but it does look good.

Outstanding work! Are you going to replace the top yourself? Its pretty complicated on a Miata from what I have seen, a lot of little pieces to take off and put back on, one of the more difficult tops to do. I did the top on my daughter's 2000 Pontiac Sunfire myself in one weekend, wasn't too bad, and turned out great, but its a lot of work.
