Okay I'm back and will try to post some pics of the project. I had a little bit of metal work to do and wrapped it up yesterday. Now off to the body work.
First I will give a little history on this project. I originaly was just going to make a real nice driver out of this car so I started to clean and detail and it just kept comming further and further apart. I have a hard time just settling for okay. Car was purchased new right here in my small town and was garaged most of its life. It has a fender bender early on and that is the metal work I took care of. Here are a few pics |

Okay Chris got it figured out. Thanks. |

Sorry for the delay but have been busy on this project and now ready for the body work. Will be asking lots of questions so will be updating this regular from here on out. To answer your question I had the car blasted inside and out body, fenders, doors, hood and, deck lid and they warped my hood so I had to find a new hood and they paid for it and will blast only the inside this time. The cost was 1500.00 Here are a few more pics. |

I had the body blasted on 8/17 then spent most of the week getting the media out of the body and was able to get everything in Epoxy by the end of the week. I used the Tamco Universal Epoxy Primer HP-661/HH661C, then went on to the metal work. Here are a few more pics.

Next step was the metal work. As seen from the previous pics this car was really in nice condition with very little metal work to be preformed. The passenger lower quarter and rocker had been side swiped at one point and had a small amount of rust as well. Rather then try to repair the damage I thought it would be better to just replace the entire panel with a nice original panel from another car. I did have to order a reproduction front quarter section for 1959 Impala as there are no repo panels offered for 60 Pontiac. http://classicindustries.com/product/19 ... 12014.html
I only used the very bottom of the panel. Here are a few more pics. |
