1960 Pontiac Ventura
Man that is a very unique car, some very cool lines. Is it the pics or is the trunk long enough to land a plane on? Nice work. What size wheels and tires are in your plans?

Thanks for the complements. I have two sets of wheels, one set of 17's & 20's American Racing Nova and one set of 15" factory steel wheels with NOS dog dish caps. |

I got epoxy on the repair panels yesterday then this morning I figured it was time to clean the shop before I started on the body work. Got the shop cleaned up and it was lunch time, came back from lunch and started spreading bondo. I am using the 3M Platinum Plus 01131. First time to use this product, a couple buddies recommended it.

Kudos to you for leaving your Poncho ALL Pontiac and Not going the new wizbang fuel injected small block! By your user name I was hoping to see a 421 and a Four speed but a 389 3x2 is still very cool. Never heard of 4 speed Hydromatic though? you mean a 700R4? buddy of mine wants to put one behind his 455 in a 78 Bird. Im still looking for a T 10 for my 71TA It will get their eventually. Dennis B.

The 421 is in my 61 Bel Air Sport Coupe. It's a stroked 3X2 W backed by a Richmond 6-speed and a Pontiac/Olds 9.3 3:23 posi. I did a rotisserie on this car in 2010. Pontiac & Olds used the 4-Hydromatic from 57-64 so it is the original trany. Here are a couple pics of the Bel Air. |

I have a small lead joint that was covered with epoxy but I just barely knocked the top of the epoxy off while doing some filler work. Do I need to put another coat of epoxy over the lead or will the Tamco DTM 2K Build Primer work over it?

If you have exposed lead I would do another coat of epoxy over all of it just because of its superior adhesion but if filler is covering all the lead eh just go ahead with the DTM primer.
I don't like the Wax, acid and all the flux junk in lead paint doesn't either that's why I say that. but if filler is covering all of it oh well go to town with the primer aint like coverage is gonna be a problem over a little filler. Dennis B.

The lead is exposed just above the filler in the pics. I thought it probably needed to be sealed up with the epoxy. Thanks for the input. |

Got all the body work done and the epoxy blocked out in 180. Will do all my seam sealer in the morning and get the first coat of 2K high build primer on tomorrow.
