Thanks again for a great tip. That didnt even cross my mind. Im going to try it this weekend. Finally finished up the cadillac and going to work on this car all weekend!

I am sure I messed up the hinges trying to bend them back.
So I just put the new hinges on and the alignment is much better!
I don't think it's perfect but I am body man. To the naked eye it looks great.
Was about a 2 hour job from taking off all the plastic clips covering the hinge bolts, using a wrench to remove 1 bolt on each side by the rear windshield which was a PITA! :realmad:
But looks much better.

Thanks Mike. :goodjob:

I'm going to tackle the front end tomorrow, try to line it all up and replace the hood release cable.
Might replace the trunk release cable also if I have time. I don't want to have to slam the trunk every time I open it.

Got some work done on it today.
Got a new hood release cable and a new to me headlight.
Installed tail light. Rear bumper. And Hood release cable.

Had to pull the radiator support out a bit so the hood would close properly and it shuts and opens great now!

Here's some pics.

New latch and cable bolted on.

Got lucky on this one. Was the only one in 2 junkyards.

New bumper and tail light on!

Lining these 2 panels up will be fun!!

Here's a pic of the bumper grill. I've been to 6 junkyards for various parts and while there I found 0 emblems that fit this grill. And I'm paying attention to these cars on the road and the some have the emblems missing. They are easy to take off and can be done fast!
I'm thinking of laying fiber glass over the center where the emblem goes so it's a flat surface and I can put any size emblem I want if it is stolen. Looks like it was taken off before because it's missing.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Just some more pictures. I've decided I need a new front bumper as the mounting tabs on this one are trash.
For the mean time till I start prepping for paint. I had to put this one back on and forced to re use the wood screws.

Got an alarm installed. I plan to keep this car for a while.

Looks a lot better than from the day I got it.

Not much bodywork has been done to this. I have been more busy with the interior.
I did order a new tail light and install it. Looking better!
Cleaned the heck out of the interior today. Still have some cleaning to do before I put the seat covers on.

I bought a new front bumper and driver fender as well, picked up some 3y/o tires from the junkyard in great shape for 10$/tire&wheel. What a steal!
Installed a new double din radio I got for a great price with navi.
Looking at the carfax I noticed an air bag recall was made for this car and it was never serviced. (My air bag light is on too!) so called up Honda and asked them if I was able to get the recall done and they said yes. So I need to take it in to have the air bags fixed.

I got a sweet viper alarm installed and keyless trunk opener installed for free while getting the alarm. :worthy:

I sent the paint color I wanted to the jobber and should have the paint in a couple weeks.
Going to start the body work this coming weekend.
Planning to keep this car forever!
Once the engine finally goes out I will probably swap it to a 5spd with the new engine.

Have done so many little things to the car no one would ever notice it's crazy.
image.jpeg
New stereo with new climate bezel. Looks 10x better.

image.jpeg
Old vs new cabin air filters.

image.jpeg
Quick spray paint on the wheels till I paint the car.

Got some stuff done on this car today. I can never work on it during the week and when the weekend comes around I have other stuff needing attention.

swapped out the old bumper brackets. The difference is minimal but there is a difference.
Image

Also put the new bumper against the fender to see the fitment. It looks spot on. We will see how it goes onto the car.
Image

Also replace and ac line which was broken and letting the freon out. Starting to get warm in CA so had to fix this.
New line on

I will probably swap the new panels onto the car this coming weekend. Probably will start working on that quarter panel.

I have not done much to the car since the last post.
I have some time this week, as I'm not working, to finish up the body work. That is the plan.

I did get the front end assembled with the new parts.
I really should have sanded and cleared the headlights before assembling it.

The sides do not line up 100%, probably because of cheap aftermarket parts, but I got them to line up as best as I could.

The hood does need to be shifted to the driver side just a tiny bit still.

Here is a picture of this horrible 1/4 panel. I pulled all the dents out and hammered any high spots.
I have also began blocking the filler I put on it.

The rest of the body has small dents, nothing major worth posting pictures.

While assembling the front end I noticed one power steering pump hose was cut.
It looks like it was rubbing on the power steering pump belt. I have no clue how, the replacement hose has plenty of clearance.
