Looking very good, I would roll it out side let it sit in the sun a few days before sanding.
No reason to rush into all that sanding lol

To late. Started sanding the next day. The old quarter (passenger side) is going to need some more love. I've not sanded the new quarter but I'm hoping the new sheet metal on that side makes my life a little easier.

Just got back from the store and buying another roll of 220 grit. I'll be back at it tonight after work.

Want to see what happens when your muscle memory is used to shooting build primer and then you switch to a urethane sealer?

I got to sand all that back off and try again. Good news is the roof and other side of the car were just fine. Live and learn. Here she is in sealer. All the BC/CC has been ordered. From here I intend to give everything another round of sanding with 600 grit and then it's time for paint!

It will be all TAMCO when it's done. All products ordered here via Chris. He's been great to work with as has Tammy at TAMCO.

There are still a lot of little flaws I can see. I thought this thing was straight but that passenger quarter panel if fighting me like cornered raccoon. I hope to sand out this sealer and I might still have to use some putty and re-spray in a few places.

From here it goes to Blocker's shop (my brother in law). That's the next hurdle. As good as I might think it is I know he'll find a thousand things we need to fix before color and clear. Wish me luck.

No pictures today. What I did wasn’t visually exciting to say the least. But traffic has been slow so I thought I’d post and say howdy to everyone.

I’m slowly but surely getting things ready for BC/CC. First, the paint and clear arrived from my TAMCO this week. I purchased 2 gallons of each since neither Bryan or I have ever used this product and there will be a learning curve for both of us.

All the parts that are in the white urethane sealer are getting a last round of love with 600 grit and/or red scotch-brite before we start laying down base/clear. So far I’ve got the lower valance, header panel, shaker, hood, extractors, mirrors and tail light bezels ready for final paint. I had to shoot some touch up sealer on the deck lid, rear bumper and on a spot on the passenger quarter today.

I also sanded the screwed up epoxy I tried to use as sealer off the fender and 2 of the 3 pieces of the spoiler today.

Tomorrow I hope to shoot white urethane sealer on that fender, the spoiler parts and 2 bezels for the rear side marker lights I somehow missed the last time around. Then I can sand those and the other fender next week.

With any luck some of this will head to the paint booth next weekend.

You're not going to believe this, we have paint on some parts!

That's my brother in law, Bryan Blocker, who owns Blocker's Performance and Restoration (http://blockersperformance.com) who handled the paint gun today. I deferred to him since he does this for a living.

Here's the products being used:

We had a little bit of orange peel in a few places. This was the first time for Bryan to use the Tamco products so I'm sure he'll get the hang of it on the next batch and we won't see any at all. What we did have was pretty minor and can be sanded and buffed.

I had one place on the bumper where I had some contamination down in a crack and the paint lifted a little. Bryan says we will sand that out, be sure we get it clean this time and the color shoot that spot and re-clear the whole bumper. I'll probably sand out whatever orange peel I find on the bumper prior to the re-clear.

Overall a very exciting and satisfying day.

Five weeks of no progress. 2 funerals, Christmas and New Years. And wouldn't you know it, this weekend I'm sick. I may never finish this car. Discouraged.
