Just about ready for paint , just needs a wetsand with 600

Has taken longer than I thought it would , but nearly there. I asked my friend why he recommended the Nason 1k primer instead of 2k urethane primer . He explained that this was my first time spraying .... I was bound to make mistakes . The 1k lacquer primer is easy to spray , and is very easy to sand out if something goes wrong. Spraying the 2k urethane sealer has given me more experience , next time I'll feel confident using the 2k primer from the get go.

Not sure I buy your friend's excuse.
Why not learn to do it right the first time rather than confusing the beginner?
I started out listening to a guy who worked at a local jobber. His advice was terrible and I struggled so much I began looking online for help. That's when I found this site. This was a long time about now and before Chris took command but the guys here at that time got me straightened out.
One of the reasons I am still here is because I see the need this site fills.

I agree, this site is great. All the advice has checked out , and with any problem I've encountered there's usually a post on the subject

Yes, Nason Select Prime followed by Select Seal 2k sealer. Next project I'm just going to use 2k primer from the start. The primer was on for about 2 weeks before paint.

Paint is Axalta/Dupont Chromabase, and Nason Select Clear

Using 3M 05973 Rubbing Compound and gonna finish with 3M Machine Polish

And she's done. No filter used here. A few little niggly bits by me, one spot of hail damage which I missed, plus some areas have some orange peel in the clear coat to sand out.

But I'm very happy

looks good... just some advice bro.. next time you do all that work to a car, use some better clear, you used Very good base .. I'm not saying its cheap clear.. But.. DuPont, ppg, house of kolor and tamco will give you better long term durability.. nason is pretty much an economy clear.. still good though..
