Hey Doug
Good to hear from you the car is looking great I love the color choice. Cant wait to see more of it.
Photobucket isn't allowing linking anymore unless you PAY every month I guess they have a new CEO who thinks they can make money off of it. Why? who knows I'm not gonna pay for it though so I too will start using Autobodys server myself I guess.
To stop and think about how many Forum story's are now ruined by not having there pictures any more makes me sad.

Yes I did start the Gig in LA I like it a lot and the people for the most part, but the commute and having to have a second home even just a room as it is in Long beach is very TAXING working 4 tens coming home on weekends the new car a low mileage 04 GTO while a lot of fun to drive isnt the greatest on gas I need to get my VW back up and road worthy again. meanwhile I am still trying to get cars done here and wow I don't have any time for squat! I try to get things done but working by myself its hard to see much progress with what little time I get for the projects I know how you guys feel now.
All my helpers are gone now moved on.

Skip is doing well with his Truck driving He has paid off his house next door and bought himself a new little John deer Tractor and a new car I am very proud of him he did good.
Hes planning on working another year or two then hanging it up for full retirement.
I am stuck for another ten or so myself.

Calvin is back in school full time + working full time AND still doing his weekend warrior stuff for Uncle Sam. Hes busier than a three legged cat in a dry sand box! very Proud of him hes doing good things hes got a gig as a local Truck driver working for the Casinos driving for the Teamsters hes doing well.
He keeps buying parts for his little Fox body Mustang I mean "Monster" the motor he built is a 430 cube out of an old 351, hes bought all the right parts this time Its gonna be indestructible once dialed in on the Dyno and the Rev limiter set properly.
Its a matter of putting to the ground now and keeping it going strait!
I am afraid hes gonna get on the Big end and spin the tires and put it into the wall or worse.
I told him you got a big boys toy now that will get you killed so lets worry about keeping you safe with a full cage and a four link with big tires so I have little Calvinators to spoil and teach bad habits too some day.

Doug's 38 2dr sedan wrote:Thanks for the reply Rob. might wait till spring to come up

Probably a safer bet Doug although island weather comes with no guarantees no matter what time of the year :flatten:

Car looks awesome, can't wait to see the final product :goodjob:

That commute would be a killer Dennis, at least the job is good.

Well this isn't very exciting but I did do a small repair on the Riv recently. I gather the back had been hit at one time and the filler had started to lift in the last few years. I'd been too busy to fix it but it was getting so bad I had to do it :knockout:

Sure looked ugly

Cleaned up real nice though

I ended up final priming it with a primer that dries to a satin coat, I love the look and now want to paint the whole car satin black, I think it looks sinister

I found this pic on the web, other than the wheels this would be the look. If I only had time :splat:

Hey Rob
Boy that did look bad but you gone and made a small area look new again!
Still it looks better than it did, I cant say I'm a big a Fan of the Flat look myself but that's just me a lot of people do like it and it does look cool on that picture you posted.

So what have you been up too? haven't heard from you in a long while? Winter should be starting to settle in soon in your parts how goes the work on the shop?

I just got back from the 2nd Hospital I had to go to today, Started out at local hospital only for them to want me to go into Vegas.
I was working on a Caliper for the 70 Chevel and had a elder moment or a sudden laps in judgment or just wasn't thinking period and Crushed my Ring finger from the first knuckle down also caught my Middle finger both on left hand.
Happened in a split second Pulled hand back cradling it, looked at it as my whole Nail was peeled back from the Cuticle forward and could see what was left of my finger tip bone! as I danced around in a circle.
Xray shows the the knuckle and half the finger tip bone the rest is dust, Totally crushed.
I have to go see a specialist hand surgeon on Thursday.

Well Dennis no matter how much I do I'm barely seeing any progress. Have all the pine soffits and half of the cedar siding done on the shop, nothing on the garage yet

So many boxes still to unpack, sort and put somewhere :splat:

As far as winter goes it snowed Nov 2nd which is the earliest by at least 2 weeks that I can ever recall. Just crazy, it's supposed to warm up and rain starting today so hopefully that will get rid of the white stuff. None in town but I'm somewhat elevated so I always get more :knockout: With the weather probably won't be getting much done on the outside until the spring.

Man your finger sounds brutal  I hope they can fix that for you. Sure doesn't take much of a mistake to cause a big problem.

Rob The Riv looks great. :goodjob: Dave is a friend (owns shop where the 38 is) painted his Riv semi gloss black and then flamed it and then had Dennis pinstripe the flames looks ****.

motor starts and runs trans turn wheels haven't put it on the ground yet. I installed a battery kill switch and found when you turn it off the computer looses memory :flatten: :knockout: Fixing the problem but feel  sorta funny :rotfl: :splat:

Hey Doug
Me and the fingers gonna make it Doc said I did a Good job on it while he spent a little over an hour picking the bone splinters out and Putting a couple steel pins in it and reinstalling the Fingernail Bed. Says Nail will fall off soon after he removes steel pins but the Nail should hopefully grow back to resemble the original says we wanted it back on there for many reasons.

The Car looks Awesome! Way better than the first time I saw it lol
That things gonna be a Rocket My LS1 in my GTO is a lot of fun to drive your gonna love driving that Monster!

That Battery kill switch wasn't such a great Idea Computers need there memory power.
How about a Alarm and tracking system from LoJack? that's what I have on my GTO Its really not all that bad in price.

Doug the car looks amazing, nice console and gauge set too! :goodjob: Good thing you didn't come up for a visit, 1st week of Nov was snow and then nothing but rain, over an inch almost every day, just ugly :knockout:

If you ever have a chance to take a pic of your friend's Riv I would love to see it.

Dennis you really did a number on that finger, it's painful just reading about it :splat: I guess you're lucky you get to keep it :goodjob:
