I think the parts guys are going to hide the second they see me walk through the door

I was about to say, are ya sure your getting Granada parts?

If you wanted to upgrade to disc brakes back when this was done, and believe me you did that was about the only way to do it. Factory disc brakes on 65 stangs was super rare so you weren't going to find that at the wrecker. I've never driven a car that stopped as poorly as the 4 way drums these cars came with, absoulutely frightening. Now days they make kits for it but they cost a fortune. All's well that ends well although the tie rod is still a mystery.

Mixing and matching is the hot rodders formula, my problem was not knowing they changed the plan, my bad

Hi Rob
Yes I understand about drums and yes I know it was only alternative and a good one in my opinion but ya gotta remember what the conversion car was lol thats all.

I have to do same thing too the 57 Chrysler the brakes were the worst part about that car.
It still have drums all four corners I have forgotten what big car to use for the conversion now but there is a Big Chrysler probably a later new yorker I have to find to rob the disks off of it to use on that big Tank now that's scary to drive with drums!

I just thought it was funny I'm sorry if your not seeing the humor in it but I really have been their and done that, The front Tie rods on my 69 Power wagon were a similar story but I didn't do the conversion and the Guy I bought it from didn't say a thing!!! oh joy to figure out on your own.

It is alive, Frankenstang lives

So as it turns out, after repeated visits to the parts store, we have Grenada spindles, Cougar rotors & calipers and naturally grenada bearings for the rotors. Seems so obvious now  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Rearend just needs the springs attached and it'll be going in, should be rolling soon :goodjob:

That's your Mom's place as I recall, is she doing ok? I hope you get good renters, that can be such a pain. I used to own some rental properties but it drove me nuts so I got out of that game. :knockout: :knockout:

Oh wow, you're a very kind and brave man Dennis. Having Mom move in would certainly have it's challenges :knockout: :knockout: :knockout: :knockout: :splat: :splat: :splat:

I'll definitley check out the ad blocker thing, makes me crazy too.

Hot water tank went kaput late yesterday, fortunately my wife noticed it lightly leaking before it totally gave way. So that will be this morning's fun, go get a new tank and install :flatten: It would be nice if someone could design one that lasts 20 or 25 years even if it cost a lot more. Replacing a burnt out element occasionally is fine but the whole tank every 8 years is stupid

Edit: Well as it turns out they do have life time tanks, who knew? They cost about 3 times as much but fair enough. Not that they actually had one, but they are available somewhere. Definitely getting one of those when I replace the one at the cabin. It's just a complete pain replacing tanks :drink:

Boy I hope you haven't Jinxed me with Mine? I been afraid of mine going out for a while now, Mine is over 8 years old now wonder if I should just go a head and replace it before it goes bad? and yes they should make them last longer.

Think I am gonna start shopping for a new one's any way for both places.

At my electric company they were advertising one with a Plastic tank that was guaranteed for a long time possibly life been a while since I saw the add their have to check into it because with my luck mine aint to far behind yours.
