We never get snow until late Nov at the earliest, if at all, but we did have a pretty good rain and wind storm the last few days. There is talk that this could be a cold winter so all our rain would be snow, we'll see, doesn't bother me either way. Biggest problem is getting the drywall done in the shop in the cold, need to get some heat and fans going in there to let the mud dry.

You two been holding out as have I, Work has been well work with no real changes on the Horizon for hr worked or money in my pocket. forces me to look more at myself and abilities to make some extra cash.
I took on that 70 Chevell Project for extra car money & Have it on my lift now with all the suspension tore out of it. I am doing all the Bushings through out the whole car including Body mounts for the frame and 2" drop spindles for the front and 1 inch Drop springs for rear and installing a 12 Bolt rear end and 4 wheel disk brakes.
I have the Front control arms all stripped down ready for blasting so I can paint them have to start on rear end 4 link Arms so I can paint those plus Paint rear end itself.

I Still have to get the Transmission out and Tore down but will be pulling engine out at same time to clean it up and paint it. So I am waiting till I get the Suspension back under it, It sits to Hi on Jack stands on my 4 Post lift to get the engine out with My engine hoist right now, Some day I would like to put in a Overhead crane Trolley system in the Shop That would be cool.
I am hoping I can get the suspension all back under it by the end of this weekend I dont know If I will get there or not but gonna try. I have a Good size Pay check coming for this one when done so It is helping to Motivate me I should be able to finish purchasing all the parts I need for the Fire bird and the Plymouth any way so I can knock them out. wich would help a lot I want them done and Gone.

The Chevelle sounds like a nice project Dennis, should certainly handle a whole lot better. I have so much work to do here before I'm ready to get back to cars. I need a drywall guy and construction up here is booming so I'm not getting anywhere with that.

I hate doing Sheetrock especially over head it sucks, My Old man taught me how to do it with 2x4 nailed together in a T to hold it up as we Nailed it up what a Pain in the _ _ _ It worked but it wasn't as easy as it is today with the special Tools they use today to do it.
Walls aren't as bad just careful measuring for your wall outlets and light Switch box's.
Also we were using Nails today you've got Dry wall screws much easier. Its just Mud and Tape after that and that's just like car body work.

If I had to do my Garage I would, But I would rent the Machine for the ceiling plus a scaffold on wheels to stand on.

I was out there yesterday got the Control arm's all blasted ready for paint working on Trailing Arm's today for the rear end I have to get the Old bushing Pressed out though first. I wish I had Talked him into new Tubular control arm kit. And I still need to figure out what I am going to do about the front Springs? Di I bead blast them and Paint them to match the new Rear springs which are RED or do I send them out for Powder coat? i know Powder coat is Best but will Paint hold up? I have some RED Urethane to go over Black Epoxy which is what I am using on the Control arms Rear end and rear Trailing Arm suspension stuff.

I have so much work to do on this car its not funny still have to get the Brake booster out as the 4 wheel Disk kit uses a different booster and Master cylinder and Brake pa-portioning valve, Plus the Dash is all cracked and I found out the Heater core leaks so the Dash is coming out also the Windshield is all cracked & needs to be replaced so It all kind of goes together. I wanna get it back on its wheels before I start all that though.

I've done way too much drywall work in my life, just did a bunch in the old house and swore I would never do it again. The ceiling in the shop is 10' so with the arthritis in my right shoulder I can't really handle the weight of a 10' sheet even if I wanted to do it. I might have a guy lined up in 2 weeks though, a friend talked to him and he said he'd do it but I haven't heard back from him yet.

Powder coat seems to be the way to go. A friend of mine has one of those inexpensive Eastwood set ups and seems to get really good results so I'm thinking I may get one at some point. My compressor uses a 40 amp breaker so rather than hardwiring it like I had before, I put in a range outlet and will wire the corresponding plug onto the compressor. This way I can put in a stove for the powdercoating and just unplug the compressor when I need the stove. At least it gives me the option down the road.

Sounds like a pretty big project you've got, tubular arms would have been a bonus but they do cost quite a bit more so he may have had to draw the line somewhere.

Ya He was looking to save a few bucks so I didn't mention the Control Arms plus Im not a Big fan of them any way BUT All The damage caused by some one trying to pry the old bushing's out some time in the cars past and Butchering them up so bad I probably should have said lets replace them. I dressed out all the old Tool marks and I am able to save 3 out of the 4 plus we found another original on a Chevell restoration web sight and it wasn't more than $40.
Making a set of Spacers to back up Control arms before pressing out the old Bushings out of Old Fence Pipe I have laying around is Proving to be more time consuming than I had anticipated. But once they are made I will be able to use them again I am hoping. if not I will use PVC next time.

As I recall the Chevelles had pretty big control arms so it's probably not the same deal as the old Stangs. You go to buy ball joints and for a few bucks more they come with new control arms. I went that route and they look to be pretty good quality, fit perfect and saves a bunch of time and effort. I thought about going with tubular arms and coil overs but the price was way out there, especially with the Canadian dollar which is only getting worse by the day :knockout:
