I have a similar problem with photobucket, I can view it but I can't post pics from my work computer, the links don't show up? Not that I would be doing that sort of thing from my work computer, just doing a systems check :allgood: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I always celebrate Independance Day Doug, you should know that, I'm Canadian we celebrate anytime we have an excuse too :goodjob: Hope you had a great Canada Day

I checked out all the pics on your thread, looks great!! :goodjob: :goodjob:

I'm still not sure how I'm going to do my engine bay, looking at yours I now see how much more room there is in there. It's about 19" between shock towers on mine, I'm not a big guy but even then that gives me no wiggle room at all :splat: :splat:

I may end up doing one side and the firewall and then the other side and front another day which would be a pain. I'll try crawling around in there first and see what happens. At least I get to try it with primer first so even if I stick my butt into it I can fix it easily.

I sprayed mine with Epoxy and went strait to color after three days so I wouldnt have to sand, sprayed it how we wanted it to look thats it. Its an engine compartment, it just needs to be body color smooth and shiny thats all, no need for filler primmer, im not trying to hide any thing I figured. besides less material is better isnt it?

Skip sprayed all of it with Clear last nite I havnt seen it yet hope there arnt any runs in it.

But the ********** Red coverd the black ********** Epoxy in two coats put a 3rd on just to be sure and a bit more here and there to call it good.
Thats Killer coverage for a Red I bet!

I'm going to do the same thing for the engine bay, once I'm happy with the body work I'll go epoxy and straight to color. Sanding in there is no fun at all. I assume you used black primer because you had it, I use a lighter gray more often than not.

Ya what I have is mostly black easyr to see low spots when you sand it.

I tell ya what Im sure that red would have coverd better over a lighter color such as grey, But over all it turnd out good I can start putting engine back in and putting all the front end back together I am actually excited.

Plus all my parts came in for the VW so now I will start on that project gonna put a new cam, water pump timing belt and a few filters in it. should be good to go after that though for another 100k-150k

I forgot about the Dub, working on projects is one thing, working on your daily driver is something I can do without :knockout:

I'm slowly getting there too. I welded in the inner fender patch, cowl patch and the connector piece between the two. I have a couple to do on the shock tower, should be ready for primer and paint soon. The engine bay will be body color but the outside of the inner fenders will be flat black, then I can put the new suspension in

Off to cut some more trees for a few days, have a good weekend :goodjob:
