That sounds like a hassle Dennis but on the upside with a fresh engine you should be good to go for a really long time. Not sure why pulling it from the bottom would be any different with a 4 post lift?

Their you are???

Well a 4 post is a drive on deal a 2 post leaves suspension dangling
Ya I haven't done anything too it past week through my back out but I am headed out there today, Ya been looking at all my options want to build a really nice engine for it but that's out of question for my finances right now I will get the engine over hauled and maybe port the heads myself a little nothing wicked or fancy and maybe buy a cam for it other than that its gonna be all stock. I was talking to my Machinist again he can get me into a set of forged pistons and a good set of rings with all the machine work and every thing ready for me to assemble for $1900 figure $300 extra for a decent roller cam puts me at $2200 I can live with that and drive the heck out of it for a long time and still not be hurt Nada has its value around 8 grand so heck I could still sell it too and make a buck.

Didn't Doug buy two different vetts for his build? I need to pick his brain on these LS engines I am sure he has been studying them a little. I start readying about them and my head starts swimming with all the different ones they have built through the past 18 years. I know I want an LS3 but the LS7 is the monster.

My Machinists is building an LS3 for a customer who is Sleaving all 8 to 4.125 bore size then putting in a 4.250 stroke for a Dune buggy with Giant Twin Turbos he claims it will be over 2000Hp when all said and done,

Yup I'm still around, just nothing interesting to report, all about working on the shop for the foreseeable future

I understand the difference betwwen the 2 and 4 post lifts, just don't know why it would make a difference pulling a motor or trans from the bottom? I've never been under a vette so maybe it would make more sense? Other than removing the centre link and maybe sway bar what else is in the way?

As I recall Doug did buy two but sold one a while back to help fund the 38. All the LS motors make good power but I think the newer ones take it to a whole other level. Speaking of another level I heard that the Mopar folks are going to release a new Demon some time soon and the motor will be a couple hundred horse more than the Hellcat

I hadn't heard that about the Demon a couple hundred more than a Hellcat? that would be around 900 hp that's just Nuts!

I remember Doug saying he was selling that other Vett now that you mention it...

Yeah they mentioned a new Demon being released on the latest Barrett Jackson but it was a Mopar nut friend of mine that said the hp, basically a race car right off the shelf, if he's correct.

Oh now I see what you mean about the Vette, that doesn't look like any engine removal I've ever done

Well two thirds of the shop is all done but the other third where I want to build a paint booth is full of cedar siding and t&g pine for the outside so basically I can't do much until I finish all the soffits and siding. On two buildings at that since I got enough to do the adjacent garage :splat:

Demon

http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/c ... 100206660/

840 hp, DOT radial drag slicks, option for a passenger or rear seat for a buck each (seriously, no other seats but the driver seat). Limited run, 3000 for the US, 300 for Canada. No pricing yet.

It's basically Fast and Furious meets Street Outlaws.

It certainly is a good thing, I can actually function like a regular old man :goodjob:

I didn't realize the new Demon was a Challenger with the name just tacked on! Thought it was a whole new car, that's somewhat disapointing. Sounds like it would be a blast to drive though. Wonder who thought a 707 hp Hellcat was underpowered

Hell dude the amount of work you've been doing I would have thought he injected ya with something from the fountain of youth!

The Hellcat being under powered?
Well I guess its all in who you speak to about it I am not sure which I would rather have myself I think the both of Chevy's Top of the line market offerings The Vette and the Camero are both very special cars

Well not quite the fountain of youth but definitely a huge improvement.

I like the new Stangs a fair bit too, I think they have the best retro style and also make a ton of hp. Not that I'm buying any of them, too pricey for the top of the line ones.
