Sounds like a nice vacation, could use one myself.
It's a stock rebuild other than the heads are ported and port matched to the intake & exhaust. Stock figures for the 425 nailhead are 465 ft/lbs torque and either 335 or 340hp, I think 340, the 335 may be the 401 motor. I had one of those too.

I used my E wheel to roll the initial shape to the panel before I cut & welded it in the fender I will get some pictures of that later.

I'm happy to hear you're ok Dennis, we were getting worried about you.
Too bad about the vdub, swapping a cam in it is probably quite a pain I haven't heard you mention the Stude in ages, I totally forgot you had it. I can't remember the year, was it late 50's? I've been cutting down trees and clearing them out every weekend at the cabin, should have the excavator in sometime in early July to get going on the garage Rob

It is alive!!!
Fired up the Riv today, broke in the cam, went for a quick boot around the block, runs fantastic Going to take it up to the cabin this weekend and break in the rings as we go. It's been a long time, happy as a pig in poop to have it back on the road Rob

Dennis; glad to here from you and you are working on the Studebaker again The welding looks like it is going great I'll post some pictures of some progress I am making on the 38, later to day I HOPE it needs to be lowered with big and littles. .

Yeah it feels great to have it back on the road. Feels tight and very strong, great throttle response. For a really heavy car, 4300 lbs I thinks, it moves very well. Can't wait to get it out on the highway and really see what it will do.

It ran like a champ, smooth and powerful, loved it!! Oh no, not the Inrepid again, I forgot about that horror Went to the father's day show and shine on Sunday in Qualicum (by Gary's Diner), around 700 cars. Here's a few pics. I really loved this elcamino that was for sale, the body and paint was perfect and quite fresh, 396, 4spd, 3:73 12 bolt posi, asking $18,800. I'd pay that all day every day but my wallet is a little light at the moment, that and my wife was with me This little a-body had a hemi and a couple bottles of nos in the back This looked like an interesting build This one reminded me of you Doug although it's actually a 37 Rob

Love the caddys.
My favorite El Camino body and color. Thanks for the pics. Never argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
