Doug, where are those updates you were promising us?
I got the rear axle seals, bearings and brakes all done but one of the new drums don't fit over the new shoes and the other doesn't seem quite right? I decided to shove it to the side until my son has a chance to pop over and have a look. I moved on to assembling the front suspension and steering, if only I could remember how I took it apart It's pretty nice to be bolting new parts on though
The BIG project thread

Doug
What filler is that that you used on that fender? I had some of that stuff before Dennis B.

Nicely done Doug!
You have a great eye for subtle improvements like that. A lot of extra work but worth it! I'm cleaning and painting some of the suspension bits that are being reused like spindles and brackets. Most of the stuff is new, it's going to be a shame to cover it all up with a fender and wheel. Rob

What a great idea using the ABS for mock up Doug! Looking great.
Tell me more about the fenders, is that rod you're welding to the edge? Is that for added strength or rigidity? You did a great job shaping it to the fender opening, that must have taken some time on a bender. I'm trying to find a mystery right side inner tie rod, it's making me crazy. I think I'll have to put it on a bunch of forums to see if someone may have seen one like that before. My Stang had the Grenada front disc brake conversion done to it a very long time ago, 20 years or so I would guess. The Grenada spindles are different so you need to do something with the tie rods. All of mine are from the Stang except for the one inner. I thought it was from a Cougar but apperently it isn't, we've looked through all the parts books and nothing has come up, seems like they're all pretty straight or way too long. It's 8.25 inch long. It's the bottom right curved piece attached to the adjusting sleeve and the centerlink. Rob

Rob, I am not any help on that 8.25 but there are many people reading this so maybe someone might help. Have you tried a Granada board if one exists? Looks like you are getting it on its wheels the hoops are 1/2" tubing. they were easy to roll on Dave's tubing bender after I made a pattern (he has all kinds of neat tools) I did it for two reasons #1 the fender edges were screwed up and in the rear didn't match the wheel placement. #2 it does make them very strong so I wont ever have front finders with splits in them. BTW the fronts were both split to the middle of the fender. it needs to be lowered with big and littles. .
