I'm looking forward to the updates with pics Doug, none of us have provided much to view in quite a while :pcorn:

I would have loved to farm the drywall job out but I just have way too many jobs to do around here to get into that habit. My wallet would be bled dry :splat: I'm also on the roof scraping moss off and then spraying it, what fun, but they charge a grand to do it so I'm just picking away at it. Plus my daughter is getting married in a week so we've been busy with that, and it wasn't free either :knockout: :knockout: Looking forward to getting back on track with the Stang soon.

Ok I think my last was the sway bar from hell, we got it and its very heavy duty.

Looking really good Doug, that really is a heavy duty looking piece! Hopefully you're just about out of the woods on the suspension from hell, you sure have had your hands full with that :splat:

Wow Doug very impressive
How do you figure out shock length with those bars you have installed for shocks?
Seen other car builders do that and I know it has to do with setting ride height but don't know how to do dat goes beyond my current knowledge.

Job is ok
I am able to work from home 3 days a week and a new guy is starting this week so I may even get some days off soon and get back to my cars soon I hope.
One of the guys with a hard on to fire me in my first week was told not to come back this week, And yes it was in part from another run in with me and my brutal honesty and experience guy just cant take any criticism and has a very vindictive personality fortunately my Boss likes & trusts me and my experience & does go to bat for me.
I'm suspect the other guy wont be around long either. The company is going through big changes right now.

I too have a TON of house work to to do too, I too cant write checks as often as I like but I have to admit when contractors bid it fairly I open up that book quickly.

The job sounds a lot better Dennis, being able to work from home a few days a week sure sweetens the pot and getting rid of a couple cancers there is also a bonus, don't need guys like that.

Really hard to get any contractor to show up around here for smaller jobs even if you wanted and I'm in a hurry to boot. Besides the more I can save on that the more I'll have for the cars :goodjob: :goodjob: But I must admit I hate drywalling more than pretty much anything :splat:

Dennis, glad to here things are going well for you, at least a little. :happy: :happy: part of the headache with the sway bar problem was the ride height and clearances. I got all the specks for coil overs that I will buy and made a mockup. we have a rusty bar in there right now for a fixed ride height. so when we finally get everything done I can buy a inch longer or shorter (even 2") if I want lower. it isn't a simple thing trust me.. :knockout: :knockout:

Ok I think I have figured a quicker way to do the upload and keep track of what I’ve done, er, what I’m doing. :flatten: :knockout: :splat:
Rear sway bar ended up to be fairly straight forward. Build a bracket attach a heavy duty Sway Bar Link to the arm and good to go. :happy:

Next is to put body back on frame to start “final” (I use the word loosely) fit of everything. This starts the next oh s**t customization and spend money step. :shocked: :rolleyes:

Now to fit the PS, Alt, AC, etc., in between the A arms and the sheet metal. :knockout: :knockout:

The solution after hours of searching and weighing out the make vs buy, I decided to spend money, allot of money, and go with the Vintage Air system. Actually it is beautiful very well engineered and I think will work well. No I didn’t get it from Summit that is another story yet unresolved. :bored: :bored:

It's really coming along now, hopefully fitting the body won't add much grief, you've done a fair bit of that already I believe so maybe it will go more smoothly than these things usually do.

Thanks Rob, it has not been going great with the front sheet metal but late yesterday and today I seem to be getting the hang of what the factory had in mind back in 1938. :rolleyes: :wink: Hopefully tomorrow will find good results. :flatten:

Dennis, a couple of shots of the height adjusters we made from some large turnbuckles and 1" square tubing. you can turn the square tubing and raise and lower suspension for ride height. I am set a little high right now for ease of working but will later decide the proper length of coil over to buy.

Very impressive work Doug
love how you solved the problem fitting the Rack & pinion with the frame notches.
Are you going to use a Corvette style mono leaf spring or Coil overs or air bags in the rear?
Were you going to mount your fuel tank?
