I'm purchasing a new front bumper for my car due to the fact I can't find a used one that looks any better than the one I have now.
The bumper is already going to be primered.
I was thinking about using some 3M gray pads, then shoot the base then clear. Am I going about this right? Should I use a wax/paint remover first?
Any advice/tips/steps wiill be greatly appreciated.
I also need a source to get my base coat and clear coat if you have any recommendations. Thanks

in my understanding on new panels that are primed (metal might be different to plastic tho), you still need to scuff it up and use a primer/sealer before you paint, I had to on some new doors I painted a while ago, hopefully some1 with more experience can clear this up for the pr of us!!

I'd hit it with a maroon scotch pad then seal it before base, I would not trust what it comes with. Check with your local paint supplier on paint, you will want to get a brand/system that will give you the best chances of a good color match.
