I'm getting ready to paint my FG car body. Some mods have been done as well as some filling and blocking with the usual polyester resins and Fillers. Should I go ahead and lay down a coat of epoxy primer, then a K2 primer, and do the final detail and blocking before base coats, or just go ahead and forget the epoxy?
Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks in advance, Jeff

No, do your epoxy now. It will keep things from ghosting, printing, transferring, etc., up through your work. I've always done this on kit cars and never have those problems. As you said do the rest of your build primers AND I would still seal that all in with a thinned down layer of epoxy sealer before moving on to basecoat.
Another step to add would be to let the car set in sunshine for few days after all the build primer BEFORE you guide coat it and block it. ALL coatings shrink back some especially these primers. Metal, wood, fiberglass, we work it all... www.furniturephysicians.com We can restore the irreplaceable!
