Hi all, little background the last vehicle I painted was 12 years ago with acrylic enamel. I do currently paint 12-15 pieces of construction/ag equipment a year and restore a few antique tractors to resell all sprayed with acrylic enamel with hardner, It's not the job that pays the bills but it does pay for some extras. My son has a Ford Ranger I plan to re-paint going to use a bc/cc metallic. The truck has a lot of plastic parts not much plastic on skidsteer. What does adhesion promoter spray like? Will a 1.4 tip work fine? Is a quart enough to spray the front valance, mirrors and rear bumper pad? I figure it has to be used on anything plastic? Would a rattle can of adhesion promoter be enough for these parts instead of buying a quart?
Thanks
I am sure I will have more questions soon having never sprayed a bc/cc.

Use some sanding paste on a gray scotch Brite. Or some dish soap. They make plastic adhesion wipes that work well. Don't use to much pressure with that scotch Brite. You can use a sponge too. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips Painter Dave, one more question on plastic, what do you use to fill scratches in it? Can you use a two part epoxy then sand it flat?
The front valance is new but it has two scratches about a 1/16 deep which is why it was almost free or should I just try to feather them out? Thanks |
You could use some UPOL dolphin glaze or some other brand to fill scratches.
Then maybe sand the whole thing in 500. Epoxy and sand that in 500 Experienced Trained Certified
