Budget is $800. I have an FLG4, I use it to spray cars with a peelable coating. Typically do one, sometimes two cars per month, 5 - 7 coats per car.
Would like a 60 gallon, any bigger would probably take up too much room.
Suggestions? Is the harbor freight 2 stage unit junk?
Looking for compressor suggestions....

What kind of peelable coating are you spraying? Is it like a plasti-dip, or something more like a masking agent/booth coat?
Either way, the FLG4 takes quite a bit of air - 11-13 SCFM. Look for a compressor that will provide 13+ SCFM at 40 psi. The HFT model you reference looks like it will work (16.4 SCFM @ 40psi). |
Wish I had a dollar for every time of I have heard or read Harbor Freight and Junk in the same sentence.

Yea me too. I've bought plenty of stuff from there over the years, but this being a big ticket item with a 90 day warranty makes me think twice.... And if I just bought their extended warranty, well, then it's not that good of a deal at that price.... |
