I'm looking for opinions on mini hvlp's. Are they useful? What are the benefits over a regular hvlp considering you can adjust a full size guns fan down fairly small?

I plan on doing some painting on small projects soon. Metal chairs, engine bay, random parts, ...is the mini worth purchasing?

Three basic benefits. First, they fit into small areas like door jambs, better. Second, they use less air so work with smaller compressors. Third, they can be more economical in terms of overspray, i.e. wasted paint. That's all I can think of.

I'm thinking i'm gonna give one a try. Any suggestions? I'm having a hard time searching "mini hvlp" because it's giving me everything hvlp and disregarding the mini.

As for price, I'd rather not pay more than 200. I'm considering buying used off ebay to get a higher quality gun for less money.

Take a look at the Warwick 878SHE. I bought one and it performs very well and is a great Mini Gun. Well within your price range. Click on the link then click on the picture of the 878SHE and it will take you to the spec page and let you look at the options.

Awesome. Anyone else used this gun? I'm in no hurry to make a purchase so all input welcome. Should I buy new or go used on ebay for a higher end gun?

Also, my budget could exceed 200 if the guns worth it. I really just want a great gun for a great price, but don't we all?

You can do a search here on Warwick and see some pretty positive reviews. I remember a guy named Phil who is very experienced wrote a long and positive post about Warwick guns. That was what sold me on trying one and it performs very well. Did a 3 color BC / CC job with it and came out perfect. You can also search Google for reviews and do some reading. Good luck / Coy

I still haven't bought a mini yet. I am considering the warwick, fx1000, and watching for deals on used higher end guns on ebay.

You might be able to find a used DeVilbiss SRI Pro (stay away from the older SRI-W) for around $200. Quality gun, easy to find parts, low air consumption, good atomization.

The sri pro and minijet are the two I'm mainly looking for. I'm not in too big of a hurry but if I can't find a deal on one of those soon I'll end up buying the warwick or fx1000 new.

Anyone know anywhere besides ebay for used guns?

Craigslist.
Also, see if your local jobber knows anyone who might be selling.
