Thank you MR PHIL, for you and all your infinite wisdom have let me see the err in my ways.

I have blown the dust off my old blue top hutchins and gone back to taking 3 times as long to get my colorsanding done, all the while getting poorer results than I did when taking the advice of both my ppg and 3m rep's to try a 3/8" orbital with trizact.

You sir are an inspiration to us all. :worthy:

But it's kind of strange that TCP global passes on this little bit of info in their item description for a DNB 21015 3/8" orbit sander don't you think?

"For Aggresive Sanding with Coarse Grits, but also works exceptionally well with 3M's Ultra-Fine Trizact Sandpaper"

Be forewarned that you need to ignore the typo on their part in the item heading. PAY ATTENTION to the MODEL# and the color of the handle on the sander being listed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynabrade-6-RAN ... 2591594185

I would like this dynabrade sander for primarily sanding clear coat. I just want to be clear, and ask if the best recommendation is the 3/8 inch orbital? Even if the sheet says others are more suited to sand with fine grit? Does the 3/8 only work well with trizact fine sand paper? Does it do fine with other sand paper?

I have used the Astro Pneumatic 3/16 (80 bucks) for a few years now for feather edging, dry 1500, and 3000 wet trizac. it has been fine but I was advised to buy the 3/32. I think I made the right choice. Just remember to oil whatever you use regularly and it should give great service for what you spend.

When it craps out the dynabrade or airvantage will most likely be my choice.

EDIT:Spelling Bad Keys!
