I have a binks m1 g that has never been used. Had it for around 12 years. I have been using a devilbiss finish line and would like to try this one.

In trying to put the cup on the body of the gun I cant get it to tighten up. I removed the filter and got a new seal or gasket for it and when I tighten the cup on the body the threaded assembly that tightens to an allen head screw inside the cup comes loose. It seems as though it is bottoming out in the body and then loosens the assembly in the cup.

There is no gasket between the allen head end of the bolt and the cup.

Anyone else run into this?

Thanks, Kevin

Take a look at pages 6 and 7:

There is a gasket. They also show the filter but that should not be needed.

Hey Chris. I have that diagram in my instructions that came with the gun. Like to never found that seal or gasket as the old part number was obsolete. If I use one of them the cup comes loose. If I use two I can get it fairly snug. Just seems odd I can't get by with one. Maybe I can put some loktite on the threads that go up into the cup. The hex head in the cup is what loosens up, not where it threads into the gun body.
