I've read around the forums but could use some more help with this -- I'm just starting my project (full repaint of a '70 Torino) and need to get a spray gun.
I was originally looking at getting the DeVilbiss FLG4, but I would need a new compressor.
I currently have access to a 3HP 25gallon 220V compressor that does 9CFM @ 40psi.

Could I get away with the Finex FX2000 or FX3000 with this compressor, since they are rated at 9.5CFM? Can anyone suggest any quality guns that would work better at under 9 CFM?

If the difference in quality/ease-of-use between the FLG4 and the Finex guns is pretty significant, I guess I'd prefer to upgrade the compressor, but if I'm going to get similar results with either, maybe I can get away with my current compressor and the Finex?

Thanks very much for any help!

Buy a better compressor and you will be able to use any gun you want. You'll also be able to run a DA and to top things off you will be much happier.

+1 on the compressor but if you HAD to stick with the current compressor then you are pretty much limited to a high-pressure gun. That means no way on the FLG4.

The Finex 2000 will work but your rate and pace is going to have to be slow, and you will need excellent water removal on your air lines.

Just my .02c but spend the money on a better compressor you will just kill the other one in the end Before the job is done, If you don't kill your self first!

Side note the FLG is a good gun use one myself.
