I have been using some "made in China" grinding discs for the 4.5" grinder. They are absolute crap! They don't grind the steel.......on sheet metal that just heat the edge up and it melts the metal enough to just fold it over. I have to push way too hard to get it to remove any metal, and that.......is a dangerous / accident prone scenario. Dunno what kinda slag they are made from, but they are junk.
So who makes the best? Looking for a product that actually grinds the metal!
Who makes the best grinding discs?

3m or Norton are pretty good for sheet metal. Heavy grinding I use United abrasives sait.

Well, I found the same thing with the crappy Made In China 3" cut off discs.........they don't cut! they just heat up the metal.
I tried some Made in USA Jet brand grinding discs. Way better! They actually grind away the metal. Maybe still not the best quality, but way better than the offshore stuff, and the local welding shop carries them. |
