I recently picked up a Accuspray 7 hvlp spray gun. I have not used it yet but I did spray some water through it to check it out. It seems to have a very fast skip to it, more like pulsating. You can see the spray flicker on and off. I cleaned it, everything looks good. Any ideas? Thanks

1.) Check your compressor. Are you running at the limits of the unit, causing it to run out of air (pressure and flow)?
2.) Do you hear any leaks from the gun? Is the fluid cap on tight?
Just some thoughts.

My gun has done that before, and every time it is the result of a loose fluid cap.

1Mech, I have a large compressor (22cfm@90psi) IIRC. I did not hear an air leak, I will check closer and will check the cap.
Crzymoe< I will check air cap. Thanks for the reply's.

Just to be clear, not just the cap cap...the outside cap.

Check the tightness of the fluid tip cap thingy, the thing that is under the cap...why am I not knowing the dag gum name for it.

Fluid tip...

LOL Moe, I know what you mean. I checked everything again, I tightened that air cap as tight as I was comfortable with that plastic ring. I can't hear an air leak anywhere but the guy I got it from said there was an air leak. He had a 1.8mm fluid tip with a 1.5mm needle. I never tried that to see if that is what he was talking about. I just put a 1.5 tip on it. Here is a pic of a Accuspray 10 gun (left) and this 07. Notice the 10 has a seal for the air cap, the 07 doesn't. I looked it up and that is correct, no seal on the 07. If it works I am posting a video of the gun in action.
