JGA-503 with a 9000 cap - never been used. Older model, but wondering if this gun would be good for a primer use.

I had this in my closet for years and forgot about it. Going to be doing body work on a VW Bug and wanted to pick up a good primer gun... then it hit me... wait.. I have a old gun in my closet... broke it out and it doesn't say what the tip size is other than 9000 stamped on it.

Thinking about a primer gun, wondering what tip size you all use for a good application.

Thanks

I can't find anything on this. I know it's an older gun, but was hoping to use it to lay down some primer.

I may just have to look to purchase a gun I know will work for primer..

I'd had to have everything set up and find out - primer is too thick and can't use this gun! :(

That's there mid sized gun but I have shot a lot of 2 part primer with mine. I use to use the 503 for clear also. the MBC is the one you want for heavy primers Binks model 7 is also good.
here's what I can tell you about your gun. i'm not familiar with the 9000 air cap but
with that air cap 9000 your fluid tip can be a 1.8 or EX or a 1.6 or FW the EX is used with a 4040 ex needle the FW is used with the 4040 FW needle. all of above can also be used with an 80 air cap. the 80 air cap gives you a better spray for clears. or heavy materials

Maybe I should try to sell it to get me a dedicated Primer gun.

Kind of scared too.

It's a brand new gun. It appears it a pretty decent gun, but nothing I can find on primer.

I have a dedicate paint gun that I use and really enjoy, it's an HVLP - so thinking I'll sell it, turn that money into another gun.

Throwing it up on Ebay now and see what it goes for..

Hate to have a brand new gun that is now used and can't sell it for as much.. :knockout:
