I have a brand new Devilbiss Finishline. When I purchased it I thought that I would use the gun for everything... It came with 1.3, 1.5, 1.8 nozzle/ tips. At the time I purchased a 2.2 tip for primer. After looking around the forums and reading up, I found that most recommend not using the primer gun for paint/clear.
My question....
Should I use the Finishline for primer? Paint? Clear?
Should I purchase another Finishline because I already have the nozzle/ tips?
What do you think?
Thanks
Another paint gun question....

As long as you keep your gun clean there are no problems with switching out tips.
Keep a log of your pressure and gun settings for each tip set and material. It will save you some time switching back and forth. It is definitely easier to just grab a dedicated primer gun when needed. A 1.8 tip is good for build primers and your 2.2 set would be for polyester primers like Slicksand. 1968 Coronet R/T

Thanks for the advise!
Will the Devilbiss FinishLine tips work on the StartingLine guns? It would be really nice to have dedicated guns |

That I do not know.
You might try looking at the part numbers and comparing. 1968 Coronet R/T

I do have a Snap-on/ Bluepoint gun, but it has a 1.5mm tip. The tech sheet for the epoxy primer I have calls for a 1.4-1.6. So that gun would work for the epoxy. Unfortunately I can't find a bigger nozzle tip for spraying high build primer anywhere.
I'm tempted to purchase the StartingLine 2 gun pack or just another FinishLine gun. What do you think? |

I use an EVO4018 by Astro Pneumatic. It's an Iwata knock-off gun and inexpensive. Had it for a long time now with no issues.

Low volume low pressure gun?
Look like around $100. Eastwood has a similar spec'd gun that was recommended--Concours LT. |
