Alright, so I'm just being cheap here. My neighbor backed into my wife's car and dented the front driver's side quarter panel a little bit. It's an 08 Hyundai Elantra in silver. If I go to the junkyard and find a good one with the same paint code, won't it be about as close as a body shop will paint one? Their insurance already cut us a check, it would be nice if I could just swap it out myself and save some money

I think you mean the front "fender"

Yes, it will match pretty good if it's in decent shape.
It actually can match better than a freshly painted one.
If you can find one.

No, JC, I think he means the front "guard". :P Fenders are things you hang on the side of a boat. :D

You are right though, if you can find a wrecked vehicle with a straight panel it could be a solution. Have to say though, that it is a pretty slim chance of finding one with exactly the same variant that you need. Almost never works for me. :(
