Im using Diamont base coat and Diamont clearcoat

What is the maximum time I can wait before I spray the clearcoat? Will I be safe to wait a full day between base and clear? Reason being im running out of time today before I have to stop.

Im not sure,,,but I would never leave my base open over night. That just me, but a LOT can go wrong when you leave it open that long. Just wait and do it later.

FAQ for DIAMONT DIAMONT BASECOAT

How long can the Diamont Base dry before it is required to apply clearcoat?
A) Eight hours, unless you are using BCH2 basecoat hardener, then you have up to twenty-four hours.

What happens if the Diamont Base dries longer than recommended before clearing?
A) Lightly scuff the Diamont base and apply a light coat of color or BC100 prior to applying clearcoat.

I really like the RM Diamont line and find it quite user friendly and easy to apply.
Here is a link to their product line tech sheets: http://www.basfrefinish.com/vta/R-M/ove ... ecoats.htm

Try to keep a log of your personal notes for each type of product you use. What your gun settings were, the speed of the reducer, whether you added hardener, etc.

I have entries for some products that say, "Never buy this junk again."

I have only used PPG omni previously, and I can say the Diamont stuff is so much better! looks nicer and very easy to apply. I can also thank my new Devilbiss plus gun for that too!

I used the 1.4 size for my basecoat and my clearcoat.

I actually meant to go down to the 1.3 for clearcoat, but after a few bits of testing the clear with the 1.4 I was satisfied with the results. I use fast hardener so I can lay it down thick.

Most of tech sheets for clears say to use a 1.4 tip. I bought my Plus used, and it came with only a 1.2 tip. The guy said he only used it for clears.
I used it with some AE clear, and Kirker EC300 on practice panels, and it also went on like glass, but you have to work very fast. I'm thinking that may be difficult on large areas, because I have some physical disabilities. How fast did you have to work with the 1.4 tip?
The 1.2 tip worked great with Auto-Air Colors, and speed wasn't an issue. Normal speed laid it down perfectly.

I have nothing to compare to since the only other gun ive used is the Harbor Freight purple gun, But it seemed normal speed for me? The gun consumes alot of material though compared to HVLP obviously
