Clear coat question

Most of that talk about humidity comes from the days of lacquers. The powdered sterate soaps that used to be in those materials would "blush" on humid or rainy days. They would also kind of remain "soft." You'd take care of the blushing later by blowing your slowest thinner back over the lacquer which would open the coat back up and let the trapped humidity evaporate and let the soaps dissolve back into solution. So I guess the point is, if you're dealing with ol' timers they still think of rainy days = bad painting...
