Hello I'm busy working away on my 1985 gmc short box .. It's been slow or is that just me..anyway I have sanded down to bare metal on most of the truck and panels then applied epoxy primer.. It went on ok but I think it wasn't thinned enough kind of bumpy but it's pretty solid ..I then got some high build primer to be able to sand smooth before painting. I needed some more of this primer and got looking at the label and it's has dtm or direct to metal.. Don't know how I never read it or saw it before but ok I'm a tool!
The epoxy and dtm primer have been on for 6 months and I haven't seen any peeling chipping etc..
Do ya think it will be ok to paint the dtm primer ? Once sanded is it screwed ? Do I have to take it back to the epoxy surface and prime again? With another type of primer ... The epoxy is from napa in Canada called metal pro and the dtm is called space age.. And it's from car quest . Thanks

I'm sure you'll be fine, I have never seen a primer that can
be put over bare metal but not painted surfaces too.
But you should check the tech sheet for that product,
it'll say exactly what it can be put over.

(It's not custom painting-it's custom sanding)
