looking for primer what to use?

Hi working on my 72 dodge challenger just got done with new trunk floor and full quarters,the rest of the car ant that bad,the car is purple iam not going to strip the paint on the doors or front fenders,iam can i just sand the fenders and doors if so what is a good primer to use.

If that's OEM paint on that car, it's lacquer...and you might be able to seal it with epoxy primer. You'll need to sand it with something like 320 grit as prep, and I get nervous anytime opening up the skin on any lacquer then shooting solvents into it.

But guys do it all the time.

Best bet of course is to strip that never fully cured lacquer off then shoot a good DTM primer that will also give you build characteristics for block sanding those panels nice and flat.
