Can 3M 05098 red glazing putty be used on top of high build primer? Small spot maybe size of a quarter...or can this stuff be used at all when Using base/clear? Having a difficult time finding that information anywhere.

Yes you can, best to sand the primer first.
And be sure to prime it afterwards before paint.
Those 1k putties dry slow so allow a lot of time before painting over.
Like days, not hours.
That's why no one uses them any more for anything larger
than a pin hole.

Yes 180 over the primer and apply. Evercoat makes the best skim coat. It does not take 2-3 days to dry. Once its hard enough to sand its dry.

I wouldn't bother with the 1K glazing putties. Too much chance of failures, shows up as wrinkles or crazing.

USC Icing, Evercoat Metal Glaze, Dolphin Putty, etc. are all light years ahead of any of the 1K products. Even the cheap Bondo brand 2K glazing putty isn't that bad. I've used all of those without any issues and they are around $22 - 30 for a kit.

He's talking about lacquer based (1k) putty, and yes it does take days to
completely quit shrinking. That's why we don't use it now.

I'm talking about the ever coat metal glaze. I know what he's talking about. Re-read my comment.
