Shooting high solids is tough! Orange peel like a mad man. Okay anyway
These are only on the flat surfaces. Not a spec in the entire back of this jeep and maybe 1 or 2 on the sides
Comes with first coat, thin or thick
I have 60' of line, no water at any of my filters and a new bulb at the gun. Spray for 60 seconds at masking paper and not a speck, but perhaps it's too fine?
W&G thoroughly and an hour before topcoat
Solvent pop? Water? Fish eyes? Arggg

First picture looks like dust.
Second looks like air entrapment. I checked your other posts and did'n t see where you mentioned what gun and tip size or what size compressor you are using. Dust is an environment issue but air entrapment is usually due to poor atomization or application. 1968 Coronet R/T

They are very hard to photograph. They all look the same, craters that have a smaller dot in the center than usual fisheye. The craters look split in half
Shooting dcu2002 through a Warwick 881h w/ 1.3 tip. Test panels I shot I cleaned tacked over and over, adjusted flow and pressure. Made no difference. Strained the clear going into the gun |
Warwick 881-h
Specs: Operating Pressure:13 CFM@43 PSI Does your compress put out 15 CFM @ 43 PSI ??? That's what you will need for this gun to atomize the paint correctly. 1968 Coronet R/T

Yessir, it's an Eaton 7.5hp Rotary
I tried shooting at the low and high end temperatures of the reducer and hardener I appreciate the help btw |
That is the classic definition of fish eyes. Looking closer at your pictures I can see the dot in the center. There must be a source of contamination either in the air or something you are applying to the surface. The W&G remover application: apply and then wipe off before it dries correct? Tack cloths: quality brand like Crystal? Cheaper brands will leave residue. You want to lightly drag it across the surface. Air supply: blow air through spray hose onto clean white cloth to check for oil contamination. Spray gun: take apart and thoroughly clean to be sure no oil or grease present. Also, be sure no one has sprayed any Armour All or similar silicone products in or near your booth lately. Once you have the problem isolated and fixed, simply sand the craters out and reapply your clear. 1968 Coronet R/T

You can get some fish eye eliminater. If you still have the issue. It's expensive and will make the paint flow differently. You might get a run easer. Best if you can find the source of the contamination and not have to use it.
