I just finished spraying final clear on engine bay and trunk, now I need to spray the car body. I need to mask off these areas so I don't get any overspray.

How long do I have to wait until I can safely put green automotive tape on clear coat without having any issues?

Thanks

Jeff

Until the time stated on the product tech sheet :-)

Or, if it doesn't say, until the clear doesn't leave any fingerprint - test it in an overspray area on your masking paper.

When I did mine I used 3M Fine Line Tape if the clear was less then a week old just to be safe. Definitely read the Technical Data Sheet for the product you are using and double the time. And don't leave that tape on any longer then necessary.
