I applied clear yesterday on the hood and trunk. Today I decided to paint the underside of each. I got saw horses put a blanket over them to prevent scratches and flipped the hood and trunk over. I noticed when I was finished and flipped the parts right side up the clear must not have been completely dry and left marks in the clear from being on the horses. And of course they are noticeable because they are on the top surface. I tried to wet sand with 1500 grit but the marks are to deep. I am using ********** universal clear. Any recommendations? Am I able to sand down to the basecoat in that particular spot, re paint and re clear or does the whole surface need to be redone?
Thanks in advance!

You really need to reclear the entire panel,
it's not really much more work than trying to blend in the spots plus you can sand the rest of the clear so the new clear will lay even better. JC.

ok. ill re-clear the whole panel. Should I lightly wet sand with 1500 to cut the clear (do not remove the clear completely) Spray basecoat on top of old sanded clear than clear again?

That's why I like to hang things if possible, although they say to hang the parts as they will be on the vehicle if possible.
