I sanded the rest of the jeep. Pulled the lights and tail gate. I used wax remover and have it taped up for paint. I sprayed the jeep. Hopefully the color will match.

I sprayed one side of the hood and while I was walking to the other the lid of the cup popped off and I spilled some paint. This is the first time I've ever had that happen. I was very lucky it didn't happen 20 seconds earlier or later.

I have a question on when I can pull the tape. Usually I let it sit for around a day and a half. But since I have tape on the paint that I painted last week I'm worried about it lifting the paint. I finished painting about 5 pm. Would I be ok pulling the tape tomorrow morning.

Did you scuff the whole thing before shooting? If not I would wait.

Check your vent hole in your cup lid probably clogged up, betcha its a Devilbiss gun also watch for loose needle packing's it will drip if loose or gets worn.

Yes, you are correct on both. A devilbiss flg4 gun and it makes sense. After I put the cap back on a short time later spray cut down. I had to unplug the vent hole. I also sanded with 600 grit (dry) before painting.

Good man I hope you sprayed it on heavy too. looks amazing.
Take your time un masking it I have pulled fresh paint before.

I hope your happy & its all one color for ya now.
Be gentle with color sanding and buffing, don't sand or buff through to the old stuff.
If you do you'll see the older coats different color and it will show.

Write down exactly what every thing was when spraying for future
Pressure, Mix ratio, how you mixed it, reducer added, activator if added, temp and how you sprayed it heavy or light coats. all makes a difference if you wanna be able to match it latter you gotta do it EXACTLY as you did before as you found out do something a little different changes color.

The FLG is a good gun Keep the lid hole clear and again watch for Paint Needle Packing's to ware and need to be replaced occasionally. They will start leaking, not a lot just a drip or so in ten minutes but enough if your not watching it It could drip on a freshly sprayed panel when its not expected ask me how I know?

PS
I wanna do my 69 Short Box Power wagon same color and paint after I'm done with current projects.

Thank's Doright. I pulled the tape, paint is still soft but did not come with it. Was worried because I used scotts blue tape on edges when I wet sanded. When I went to remove it didn't want to come (from water and sanding over it's edge). I ended up using acetone and rubbing with the rag. I just didn't want that again. Look forward to seeing your next project (power wagon) when you do it. Again thanks for the help. It's easy to read about it, but stuff just pops up that aren't covered when you read or watch a video.
